Rehabilitation Medicine
The Rehabilitation Medicine Dept. deals with temporary or permanent disabilities caused by accidents or diseases such as car accidents, industrial disasters, and the aftereffects of lifestyle diseases including high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, and the like. The purpose of rehabilitative medicine is to minimize disabilities through rehabilitative programs when patients have irrecoverable disabilities, and help them have as independent and decent a life as possible by maximizing their remaining functionality. It also helps patients with acute or chronic pain to develop their physical, mental and social capabilities and potential abilities through hobbies, occupations, and education. It implements treatment and preventive training for patients so they can be free from severe pain and have a substantially normal life.
