Gastroenterology
The Gastroenterology Dept. diagnoses and treats disorders in hepar, the upper digestive system (throat, stomach, upper digestive tract), lower digestive system (small and large intestines, rectum), biliary tract, pancreas, and peritoneum. It implements various endoscopy such as gastroscopy, colonoscopy, retrograde cholangiopancreatoscopy, and digestive tract movement inspections. It also operates a Liver Research Center to study the causes of hepatitis and liver cancer as well as new treatment methods.
